New Feedback Sports Team Edition tool kit and more

Feedback Sports Team Edition Tools

Feedback Sports has ventured into the bike tools arena with the Team Edition Tool Kit. Price $ 250.

Colorado-based Feedback Sports is well known for its bike stands and bike storage products. Last year, the company entered a new market with the Omnium portable trainer and have continued to expand, acquiring the popular Scorpion Stand.

Now Feedback Sports is getting in to the wrenching game with a tool collection that’s highlighted by the Team Edition Tool Kit, and also includes the less expensive Ride Prep Tool Kit and a complete set of T-handle wrenches.

Feedback Sports Team Edition Tools

The Team Edition Tool Kit travels easily and puts all the tools right at your fingertips.

Feedback Sports Team Edition Tool Kit

The Team Edition Tool Kit is designed to put all your maintenance essentials in a convenient position that is easy to travel with. The kit has 19 tools that serve 25 functions in a self-contained case that hangs easily from your workstand — or a hotel room tool hook. Simply unzip the case and hang it and everything falls into place.

Tools are professional grade. The molded grips provide a secure and comfortable grip. The TPU nylon coated case holds all the tools securely and even provides room for extra tools (like Feedback’s new T-handle wrenches).

The kit includes: fixed 3-way Torx t25/27/30, fixed 3-way hex 2/2.5/3mm, fixed 3-way hex 4/5/6mm, l-hex 8mm, l-hex 10mm, #0 Phillips, #2 Phillips, 6mm flathead, Schrader core tool, Presta core tool, valve extender wrench, spoke wrench, chain pin press, rotor truing tool, crank arm cap tool, steel core tire levers, brake pad spreader, 15mm pedal wrench, 15mm axle nut wrench, bottom bracket wrench, cassette lockring wrench, cassette pliers, cable cutter, cable crimper and dual sided pick. Price is $ 250.

Feedback Sports Ride Prep Tools

The Ride Prep is a smaller, travel-size tool kit. Price is $ 130.

Feedback Sports Ride Prep Tool Kit

The Ride Prep Tool Kit offers 12 tools with 16 functions for the rider whose maintenance and repair needs are more basic. Like the Team Edition kit, this set provides professional grade durability and a limited lifetime warranty. The case is made from the same TPU coated nylon.
Included tools for this set are: fixed 3-way TORX T25/27/30, fixed 3-way Hex 2/2.5/3mm, fixed 3-way Hex 4/5/6mm, L-Hex 8mm, #0 Phillips, Schrader core tool, Presta core tool, valve extender wrench, spoke wrench, chain pin press, rotor truing tool, crank arm cap tool, steel core tire levers, brake pad spreader, 15mm pedal wrench and 15mm axle nut wrench. Price is $ 130.

Feedback Sports T-handle

The T-handle Tool Kit has seven steel T-handle wrenches for the most common tasks. Price is $ 130.

Feedback Sports T-handle Tool Kit

The new T-handle Tool Kit from Feedback Sports is almost as pretty to look at as it is functional. The polished S2 steel gives you peace of mind from its pro grade durability. The weight of each wrench adds to the quality feel.

Feedback Sports T-handle

The T-handle Tool Kit comes in a travel ready nylon case.

The seven wrenches are: T25 TORX, 6mm Hex, 5mm Hex, 4mm Hex, 3mm Hex, 2.5mm Hex and 2mm Hex. Price is $ 130.

5 trail taming mountain bike mud tires

Mud or no mud, Danny Hart is a Jedi. Photo courtesy of Art’s Cyclery

Editor’s Note: This article is courtesy of the team at Art’s Cyclery. The original post can be found here.

Last year was supposed to be an El Nino of epic proportions, flooding the West Coast of the U.S. off the map and burying the mountains with snow. Unfortunately, it turned out to be a dud. But the winter of 2017 has delivered near record-setting rain and snowfall thus far. That means one thing: muddy tracks. While you should never ride multi-use or sensitive trails when they are wet, you might as well get ready for a wet, lift-accessed spring with a good mud tire set-up. Here are some of our favorites. But first, press play to see the greatest mud ride of all time.

Schwalbe Dirty Dan Super Gravity/Downhill Casing

There’s really nothing we can say about this tire that the video of Danny Hart’s 2011 legendary World Champs run doesn’t convey. Was it the Dirty Dan’s ultra-grippy and slow rebounding VertStar compound that enabled Hart to rail through the mud like he was driving a Formula 1 car on a dry track? It definitely had something to do with the advanced tread block design, featuring alternating angles and offset auxiliary cornering “nubs.”

WTB Warden TCS Tough High Grip

Unabashedly made for the nastiest, loosest, most slippery conditions you could encounter, the WTB Warden is topped with a 60A base and 45A cap layer. When traction is the deciding factor between winning and losing on steep and deep tracks, put some Wardens on your wheels. While it’s not going to get you a respectable XC placing, it rolls faster than a tire of this weight and wet-condition capability should.

Specialized Hillbilly

Specialized Hillbilly Grid 2Bilss

More of a mixed condition tread that favors mud, the 42a over a 70a base compound grips on soft, wet, or hard surfaces. Both the height of the tread blocks (not super-tall) and firm base rubber provide traction in mud but aren’t as squirmy as taller mud spikes. The 60TPI carcass and Grid casing’s butyl inserts allow for confident, rock-smashing fun.

Honorable Mention Tires

Maxxis’ Shorty is a “3/4-spike,” with flatter knob tops and buttressed cornering knobs for stability on terrain drier than mud.

Not really a classic mud tire, the Schwalbe Magic Mary has cornering knobs packed a little too closely for thicker mud, or deep wet mud. However, the versatile tread will serve you well in most wet conditions, and absolutely shines in loam and loose conditions, too.

Norco Sight updated with new geometry

Norco Carbon Sight 2017 650B 29er Jill Kintner

The updated Norco Sight brings small but key updates to one Mtbr’s longtime favorite bikes.

Norco is one of those brands that doesn’t get a ton of attention here in the United States, but consistently produces intriguingly well-engineered frames.

Norco Carbon Sight 2017 650B 29er Yellow

The Sight has been designed to offer both 27.5 and 29er enthusiasts similar performance.

The Canadian bike maker’s latest offering is the updated Sight, a revised version of a longtime favorite. Like the outgoing model, it’s available in both 27.5 and 29er. It’s designed with all-mountain versatility and features new geometry that is (of course) longer, lower, and slacker.

Norco Carbon Sight 2017 650B 29er Geometry

The Sight geometry didn’t receive major changes, but there’s more at work than what’s on paper. Norco has also reworked the suspension kinematics.

The 27.5 version comes equipped with an 150mm fork and 140mm of rear travel. Compared to the old model, the head angle has been slackened by a half-degree. The seat angle is marginally steeper, and reach has been given a small bump. The 29er received similar updates, but comes with an 140mm fork and 130mm of rear travel. Aside from wheel size, the other key difference between the two models is frame size availability. The 27.5 version runs XS to XL, while the 29er only goes from M to XL.

Both versions have been optimized to offer riders similar on-trail handling characteristics. To achieve that, Norco used every trick at their disposal. For example, you’ll notice small tweaks to spec between models in order to keep contact points similar. They’ve also made changes to things like travel and fork offset.

//www.youtube.com/watch?v=DdN6FaMC-ZY

Other small details that shows Norco cares include their Gravity Tune. Basically, they fixed the front-center/rear-center ratio across all their frame sizes, so that larger models have proportionally longer front and rear ends. The tube profiles are also scaled by size, to help better calibrate frame stiffness with prospective rider weight. The idea is a smaller rider on an extra small frame will experience the same performance and comfort as a heavier rider on an XL bike. For more details about their design approach, check out the video above.

Norco Carbon Sight 2017 650B 29er

The Norco Sight uses a trunnion mounted metric shock and Enduro Max bearings throughout.

Each wheel size is available in three builds. Prices start at $ 3899 and top out at $ 6499. Frame only is $ 2599. All versions ship with a 1x drivetrains (but they are also 2x compatible), integrated frame protection, tubeless ready rims, wide bars, and short stems. Riders will also appreciate the meaty tread up front paired with faster rolling rubber in back.

Considering how much fun the previous version was, we’re excited to see how the new bike performs once test samples are available. We’ll keep you posted.
