Yesterday, we checked out Mark Weir’s Cannondale Jekyll. Today, we’ll take a quick look at Marco Osborne’s. If you’re unfamiliar with Marco, he’s the youngest member of Cannondale’s Enduro race team.
Born and raised near Tahoe, he got his start on a hand me down from Mark Weir. Under the tutelage of Mark, Ben Cruz, and Jason Moeschler, this Norcal local has become a podium threat at enduro races around the world.
If you’ve ever ridden down an EWS course, you’re well aware how long and brutal they can be. That’s my many racers, like Marco, tend to opt for DH brakes.
WTB Padlock grips add security from slippage and increase comfort.
The red dirt caked around the fender and fork is typical of the Tahoe area.
Unlike Weir who is on a GRIP damper fork, Marco is running a Factory series Fox 36. As you can tell from the scuffs, it’s been put through hell and back.
Out back, Marco is running the stock Gemini shock. During races, he can easily switch between the two riding modes to help conserve energy or put down more power.
Every year, WTB sponsors a mountain bike clinic for veterans through the Semper Fi Fund. This limited edition saddle was sold to help raise money for the program.
The big difference between Mark and Marco’s bikes is the drivetrain and tire selection. Marco is sponsored by Shimano, so he’s running a 1×11 drivetrain and an E13 Guide. He’s also opted for a faster rolling front and rear tire, while Weir is running the burliest tires you’ve ever seen.
