FSA cranks go modular, Afterburner wheels get WideR

The new FSA cranks allow you to convert between different axle standards and drivetrain configurations.

FSA’s new cranks use a modular design that allows them to be easily transferred from bike to bike. WIth a simple lockring removal tool (which also fits Cannondale Hollowgram cranks), you can fit either a 1x or 2x chainring. You can also insert or remove a spacer to adapt the to accommodate either standard or boost spacing.

The carbon SL-K cranks are the most expensive (and lightest) crank FSA offers.

The modular mountain bike cranks are available starting at $ 139 for the new Comet cranks and top out around $ 450 for the carbon SL-K version. In between these price points, you’ll find the Afterburner and Gradient.

You can swap between different gearing configurations using a lockring removal tool, which is compatible with Cannondale Hollowgram cranks.

For those interested in dual ring setups, FSA offers 38/28T, 38/24T, 36/24T, 36/26T, 36T/22T combinations. Prefer 1x? You can pick up a narrow/wide chainring in either 38T, 36T, 34T, 32T, 30T, 28T, or 26T.

FSA’s new Afterburner WideR wheels have a 27mm ID. They’re available in either 27.5 or 29”.

In addition to cranks, FSA also offers a full line of off road wheels. Their newest model is the Afterburner WideR. These asymmetric rims are 27mm wide and utilize a hookless bead, which helps ease tire installation, and increases durability. The hubs are available with either a Shimano or XD driver. There’s also boost and standard axle options.
