Time has been making mountain bike pedals for years if not decades. Who among us hasn’t spent at least some time on their ATAC set-up. Well, now they’re getting into the enduro game with the new Speciale 12.
Features include a new platform shape with a longer, thinner profile that’s designed to provide a more stable and comfortable platform. The thinner body profile also reduces weight as well as exposure to rock and root pedal strikes.
Along with the wide platform, the pedals have adjustable pins for optimal grip, and a micro-adjustable clamping system. The ATAC engagement set-up (patented by Time) allows easy clip in and positive, predictable release, and it self-cleans. Each time you step into a Time ATAC pedal the lever clears out any debris, mud, dirt, or sand. The pedal body is constructed of 6106-T6 aluminum, which Time says is 20% more durable than other grades of aluminum.
Like all of their pedals, the Speciale is made in France at the Time factory in Nevers. The new pedals are available in three colors (anodized red, blue, gray), feature a hollow steel spindle, and have a claimed weight of 202g per pedal. Price is $ 350.
